BeautyBlender Sponge

After hearing about the wonders of this little sponge by makeup artists and beauty bloggers alike, I decided to try it out. I ordered mine from Sephora and selected the two sponge pack because it was a good deal. 1 sponge= $19.95 2 sponges= $25.95. You also had the option of buying the sponges with a cleanser made specifically for the sponge but I opted out (I use a Bath & Body Works anti bacterial foaming hand soap and find that it works pretty great!).

I can see how people could think this is a super silly purchase but the sponge is supposed to last me 5-6 months and I love how it applies my makeup. You use the sponge damp, which causes it to grow to about 2x its original size. I get the sponge wet and squeeze the water out with my hand and then squeeze it in a towel. You use the beautyblender damp so that it already has a little liquid in it and won't soak up your liquid makeup.
The directions say to put the makeup on the sponge but I prefer to dab my makeup all over my face with my finger then use the sponge to stipple (bounce off the face) the product all over my face. It really blends the makeup into the skin, making it look professional. :) I usually don't have time to wash the sponge right after I use it in the morning but I do wash it after school the same day and use the case the beautyblenders came in to store the sponge to dry.
