Favorite Oscars Makeup & Dresses

1. Naomi Watts
I may be partial to the beautiful Naomi because I just saw The Impossible on Sunday, but I love her dress. It's edgy but not over the top. I love her light makeup too. Temptalia has a post on what Naomi's makeup artist used on her.

2. Jennifer Lawrence
I like her dress, but don't love. The bottom is the breaking point for me, and probably for her, given that she tripped on it going up to accept her award for leading actress... I adore her makeup though. Temptalia also has a breakdown of the products used.

3. Jessica Chastain
I couldn't not include my latest girl crush, Jessica Chastain. I'm not too keen on her dress but her neutral makeup and red lips I love love love.

(Late) February Wishlist

Late February Wishlist

I saw a lot of beauty bloggers posting their wishlists so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon!

1. Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk- I've been looking for a makeup remover that can get my eyeliner and mascara off without me rubbing the heck out of my eyes.
2. Clarisonic Mia2 in Berry- If only I had enough money... My friends rave about their Clarisonics.
3. Illamasqua Speckled Nail Varnish in Fragile- I love how this looks like bird eggs! Would be so pretty for Easter!
4. Benefit Porefessional face primer- I've used a sample of this and love it, so soft and smooth and really does minimize my pores!
5. Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum- heard this looks great under mascara and also heard you can wear it to bed as a treatment!

MAC Lipstick

This last Monday my dad and I went to pick my mom up from the airport in the city, with my free time I naturally went to Macy's to browse the MAC counter.

I had one goal in mind: find the perfect pink lipstick for me. I was determined to get help from a lady at the counter because in previous visits I had been ignored. I went in at 6pm so there wasn't any other customers and asked the woman working the counter for a "pink that won't wash me out" because pinks tend to do that on me. She immediately pointed me to "Angel" under the frosts. I don't wear frosts but I swatched it and found it had faint shimmer and was perfect. I also saw that the woman who was helping me had the Deathly Hallows from Harry Potter tattooed on her wrist which confirmed to me to buy the other lipstick I was eyeing, "Pink Plaid" a matte lipstick. Hahaha!
MAC lipsticks are probably the cheapest high end brand lipsticks you can buy. They last and last, go on creamy and have a large range of shades and finishes to choose from. These are my 3rd and 4th MAC lipsticks, I have the "Lady Gaga Viva Glam I" (bright bubblegum pink, looks atrocious on me; funds for Viva Glam sales go to MAC AIDS fund so I feel good about that, also, this lipstick isn't available through MAC anymore) and "Pure Zen" from the Marilyn Monroe collection (the collection is gone, but this shade remains; it's a warm nude).

I am always drawn in by it's $15 price tag and adore that it lasts hours. I love my Too Faced La Creme lipsticks but they at $6 more and don't last as long.. (I reviewed Naked Dolly specifically and found a color nearly identical to it at the MAC counter "Creme Cup"!) I also love how you have so many finishes to choose from: amplified, amplified creme, cremesheen, frost, glaze, lustre, matte & satin!

Angel (aka my perfect pink: soft pink, frost):

Pink Plaid (dirty blue-pink, matte):

You can buy MAC lipsticks at the counter in your local Macy's or online on MAC's website.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

As promised here is my review for Urban Decay's Naked Skin Foundation.

This is my first time using a liquid foundation, before I stuck with a tinted finishing powder because I have very sensitive skin, but the powder wasn't covering the redness of my cheeks or evening my skin tone out.

On Sephora's website this foundation is described as "A weightless and virtually invisible liquid foundation that creates a luminous, demi-matte finish. This formula helps skin achieve a natural, illuminated and bright finish— like the beautiful skin you were born with. Naked Skin is formulated with light-diffusing spheres, transforming you to look professionally retouched. Buildable coverage allows women to customize their look."

I am first going to start out with the coverage; it is a lightweight foundation which means light to medium coverage. If you are looking for something with heavy coverage then this is not for you. I usually get light coverage with one pump, and I get my desired coverage (half-way between light and medium) with one and a half pumps. Even if you do build up to medium coverage the foundation is still very light on the face. It feels like you're wearing nothing! This was one of the big factors in my choice of this product as the idea of cakey makeup kept me away from liquid foundation for so long.

I ordered my foundation through the Sephora website without getting matched at a store, which was really not smart at all but it actually worked out in this case. I got the palest shade, .5 and it's a perfect match for me. I like how Urban Decay did their numbering system with this foundation, warmer tones end in .0 and cooler tones end in .5. The foundation in the bottle looks much darker than it is blended out. I swatched it on the back of my hand in the pictures below.
(as you can see it looks like it won't match at all)

(blended out you can barely tell that it's even there!)

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara

My never ending quest to find a mascara that makes my lashes look amazing, while not breaking the bank has come to standstill.

For awhile now I've been rotating from different mascaras. I've been favoring Benefit's They're Real! mascara sample I got at Ulta. I used it for almost 3 and a half months which made it dry up and irritate my eyes :( ever since I've been on the quest to find something with a brush that separates my lashes and adds length. Which led me to try this out.

First off, the brush is so nice. It separates my lashes and prevents them from clumping. This formula also adds a lot of length to my lashes. I haven't noticed a lot of volume, given that my lashes are already on the thicker side so I can not accurately review the mascara on that.

I got the regular formula rather than the waterproof formula but I still have a lot of trouble removing the mascara with a makeup removing wipe. That being said, my eyes are a bit raccoon-ish after I wash my face with my cleanser. Maybe it's because I use makeup wipes from walmart that I have this problem, but I can't be certain.

Here is a pic of my eye with the mascara on:
While it's not the best mascara in the world, it is a great mascara for it's lower price range! I recommend it! :)

Too Faced La Creme

Today I'm going to review a product that I've loved since last summer. It's Too Faced's creamy lipstick that keeps your lips soft and has beautiful color. I have three of these, but I took pictures of Naked Dolly straight out of the box.

Naked Dolly is a soft nude, satin pink which because it was a soft pink I thought would not look very good. I own this lipstick in Nude Beach as well which is described as a peach nude but is more like a darker pink than a peach. I like the formula of these because they're soft and don't dry my lips out. On their own they last maybe 2-3 w/o eating or drinking but I pair these with a lip liner and I get longer wear out of them! The Lip Creams come in a range of must have colors: nudes, spices, pinks, reds and now berries!

So sorry for the lack of posts, senior year is so busy! I hope to be posting more frequently and I also hope you all are having a great weekend! Enjoy Super Bowl tomorrow :)
