Hi all! After practically a month, I have returned. I am sorry for my absence as I was consumed with finishing my senior project, doing a practice speech and completing a portfolio. All is taken care of and I am back to regular posting!
I am going to talk about my hair today. I have a pixie cut but that does not mean I don't use much on it. I have had cropped short hair since December 2010; I've let it grow out, chop it off, let it grow out, chop it off.. continuously since that time. I have been keeping it trimmed up lately, with my bangs and the top portion a little longer than the rest. My hairdresser and I are pretty happy with this cut, though she is kind of bored because I like to change my style and color frequently. I have to get it trimmed up at least once a month.
Shampooing & Conditioning.
(picture not mine)
I use Organix's Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner in the morning before I get ready. It smells INSANELY good and makes my hair soft. I've noticed since I've started using Morrocan Argan Oil products (yes, products plural) that it takes longer and longer for me to get split ends. I actually never have any when I go in for my trim. I use about a quarter (or less) sized amount of shampoo and a dime sized amount of conditioner for my hair.
After Showering; While Hair is Still Damp.
(picture not mine)
Yes, Moroccan Argan Oil by Organix is my favorite thing ever. This is their leave in oil. I use a small amount and work it into my damp hair after I towel dry. (I don't tousle my hair when I dry it with a towel; that brings on split ends. I run the towel down the length of my hair.) It helps prevent split ends and give my hair a little TLC. :)
After the oil I use Tresemme's Heat Tamer spray quite liberally throughout my hair to help protect it from my blow dryer and straightening iron. It doesn't feel heavy and smells great! I've noticed since I've started using it that my hair isn't so frizzy after I use heat. It also helps that this spray is under $4 at Walmart! (a steal, for realz!)
Styling.
Even though my hair is short, it like to curl and do its own thing most of the time. After blow drying and straightening my bangs, I use Organix's Moroccan Surf Paste (can you sense a trend?) It smells amazing and provides great hold. It's actually for texturizing and waves but I use it to smooth my hair down. It's not heavy and makes my hair soft and smooth.
If I need a lot more hold I turn to Not Your Mother's Miss Freeze Hairspray. I put this on after the surf paste for more hold. It doesn't make my hair crunchy like other hairsprays (I love this) and it holds all day!
Nighttime.
At night I always shower to wash myself but I only rinse my hair with water; too much shampooing is not good for your hair!
